OUR STORY
Friends first. Movement second.
Feyi and I have been friends for over 17 years. We met as girls, grew into women side by side, and somewhere along the way, realised that the things we cared about most — money and motherhood — were more connected than the world was letting on.
I built MoneyStart because I watched too many smart, capable women shrink when money came up. Women who were running homes, businesses, and entire families — but had never been given a real seat at the wealth-building table. My work is about changing that. Practically. One client, one conversation, one financial plan at a time.
Feyi built Swaddle and the MotherWell community because she understood something most people underestimate: the invisible load of motherhood is real, and the women carrying it deserve more than generic advice and a pat on the back. She has spent years building the technology, the content, and the community that actually support mothers in their everyday lives.
The Mum Fund is what happens when those two worlds collide.
It started as a conversation between the two of us about the women we kept seeing —financially aware but not yet financially active. Inspired by panels, moved by podcasts, but still not investing. Still not planning. Still putting themselves last. We wanted to do something about that. So we did.
The first Mum Fund event was planned for 30 people. 250 showed up. That told us everything we needed to know.
What we're building isn't just an annual event. It's a community of women who have decided that financial empowerment isn't a luxury — it's a responsibility. To themselves, to each other, to the children watching them.
That's what it means to us. Financial education as an act of love.
ABOUT THE MUMFUND
A strategic gathering.
The Mum Fund is a premium financial empowerment experience designed for modern African mothers who are serious about building wealth, legacy, and meaningful community.
Curated through a collaborative partnership between MoneyStart and the Swaddle App, Mum Fund convenes high-performing entrepreneurs, executives, and decision-makers for intentional conversations around money, identity, investment, and sisterhood.
It is not a feel-good conference. It is a strategic gathering where belief meets structure — equipping women with the clarity, tools, and access needed to step confidently into their most abundant selves.
Real Conversations — no fluff, no filter. Women sharing what actually works.
Financial clarity — practical knowledge you can walk away and use today.
A safe space — vulnerability welcomed, judgment left at the door.
